The Australian Trade Commission – Austrade – is the Australian Government’s promotion agency. Austrade’s role is to advance Australia's international trade, investment and education interests by providing information, advice and services.

Through a network of offices in over 50 countries, Austrade assists Australian exporters to grow their international business, attracts productive foreign direct investment into Australia and promotes Australia’s education sector internationally.
 

Austrade in Milan and Prague

The Austrade offices in Milan and Prague are also responsible for markets in Central and South East Europe including Greece, Romania and Bulgaria.

Austrade’s full suite of export services is available to Australian companies looking to grow their business in these countries. Austrade also works to promote the Australian education sector and attract productive foreign direct investment into Australia.

In Greece, Romania and Bulgaria, Austrade services are primarily focused on promoting the Australian education sector. We can also assist Australian businesses that are actively seeking opportunities within high potential sectors across these countries. OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises

The Australian Government encourages Australian enterprises operating overseas and multinational enterprises operating in Australia to observe the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. The Guidelines provide voluntary principles and standards for responsible business conduct in a variety of areas, including:

  • human rights;
  • employment and industrial relations;
  • environment;
  • combating bribery, bribe solicitation and extortion;
  • consumer interests;
  • science and technology;
  • competition; and
  • taxation.

The Australian National Contact Point (AusNCP) promotes the use of the OECD Guidelines and contributes to the resolution of issues relating to their implementation, including facilitating access to conciliation services.
